Stansted Express Class 745/1 makes passenger debut

The first Stansted Express Clsss 745/1 to carry passengers made its debut on March 30, when 745105 formed the 0700 Norwich-London Liverpool Street. The 12-car Stadler electric multiple units are mainly for the London-Stansted route, but will operate some Norwich-London trains as a way of getting from their Norfolk base to their area of operation. Unlike the Class 745/0s, the Stansted '745/1 s' have no First Class or catering facilities. And while all ten of the Intercity sets are in the UK, one Stansted set (745110) has still to be delivered from Switzerland.
