New glass frontage lets in the light at rebuilt Glasgow Queen Street

Glasgow Queen Street station is now a lot brighter inside, following installation of 310 glass panels on the station's new frontage. Covering a 734m~2 area, the 21-metre-high floor-to-ceiling glazing is part of the £120 million transformation of the terminus. Inside, work is under way to extend Platforms 4 and 5 by 26 metres to allow eight-car Class 385 electrics and five-coach lnter7City High Speed Trains to serve the station.
