Cubic seeks sole Oyster contract

Subject to the lifting of a temporary restraining order obtained by its TranSys partner EDS, Cubic Corporation expects to sign a three-year contract to take over sole responsibility for operating TfL's Oyster smartcard ticketing system by the end of the year. This was revealed in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission made by Cubic on August 8, when TfL formally notified TranSys that the Prestige PE1 contract was to be terminated with effect from August 16 2010 (RB1324 p1). Cubic's UK subsidiary and EDS are the majority shareholders in TranSys, each owning 37.5% of the company. Under the Prestige contract, Cubic (UK) Ltd is responsible for the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of the hardware while EDS provides information technology and operational services.
