Crossrail track access confirmed

Having considered representations on its proposed decision announced in March (RB1314 p2), ORR confirmed on April 14 that the term of the Crossrail Track Access Option should be cut from 50 to 30 years. Under the TA0, the number of off-peak paths reserved on the Great Western and Great Eastern main lines for cross-London passenger services should be reduced by 25％. Work is currently underway to establish how the draft TAO submitted on July 23 2007 by DfT and Network Rail should be modified to reflect these two key changes confirmed by ORR. Other amendments are likely to be made to reflect issues raised by the two applicants, consultees and ORR itself.
