TfL to buy out Tramlink

Transport for London announced on March 17 that its offer to acquire Tramtrack Croydon Ltd for £98m had been accepted. Subject to due diligence, the acquisition of the Tramlink PF1 concessionaire is due to be completed this summer. TfL Commissioner Peter Hendy said 'with 88 years remaining on the concession agreement with Tramtrack Croydon Ltd, this deal represents excellent value for money for London's fare- and taxpayers. It will allow us to build on the success of Tramlink to date, and increase levels of investment in the system to ensure it can keep up with growing demand'.
