IEP decision due in October

Publishing Sir Andrew Foster's review of the Intercity Express Programme on July 6, Transport Secretary Philip Hammond said that a decision on the future of IEP would be announced when the Comprehensive Spending Review is published in October. In his review, Foster had questioned the 'wisdom and practicality of continuing with IEP in its present form' and suggested a pause of not more than six months for 'further reflection and analysis'.
