Thameslink GN consultation

Other than stating that 'up to' eight trains/h will run through the Thames-link central core, DfT's consultation document on the new Thameslink franchise (RB1416 p1) contains no information on services planned for the Great Northern route. According to DfT, work is currently underway to determine the 'optimal destinations' for GN through trains. In parallel, DfT is considering whether it might be 'appropriate' that GN services which continue to run into King's Cross are transferred to Intercity East Coast, mirroring the creation of Greater Anglia in 2004 from the former Great Eastern (suburban) and Anglia (longdistance) franchises.
