Announcing preliminary results for the year to March 31 2012 on June 14, WS Atkins plc reported revenue from its UK operations down 7·2% at £859·9m from £926·5m the year before. Operating profit was down 16% at £51 ·6m from £61·4m. 'The UK region performed in line with expectations as we continue to navigate difficult market conditions, notably in our rail business', said Atkins.
