Balfour Beatty targets rail growth

Announcing results for the year to December 31 2011 on March 8, Balfour Beatty pic reported revenue at its Professional Services segment up at £1 645m from £1 613m the year before. Profit from operations showed a 'particularly noteworthy' improvement, up at £87m from £85m. 'We are pleased that the operating performance of Parsons Brinckerhoff has improved as planned, with margins in Professional Services rising to 5.3% despite lower volumes in UK consultancy work which held back profits', said Balfour Beatty.
