Reigate Et Banstead Borough Council has granted planning consent for the redevelopment of a 2 ha site at Redhill station, including a Waitrose food store and 150 homes. The £50m project is being promoted by the Solum Regeneration partnership of Network Rail and Kier Property, which hopes to start work early in 2014. 'The plans to regenerate the area around Redhill station will deliver a substantial package of improvements to the station and complement other improvements being planned by Network Rail and Southern', said NR Route Managing Director, Sussex, Tim Robinson. 'By making more of our land assets around the station, we can generate funding to improve facilities for passengers'.
