RMT claims 'breakdown' at EMT

RMT members at East Midlands Trains including train managers, senior conductors and station grades are due to begin industrial action 'short of strike' at 00.01 on July 20. The union says there has been 'a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations' at the TOC, instructing its members not to work overtime or rest days. RMT members at EMT have also been told not to perform any additional duties outside their job description and terms and conditions of employment, and only to work agreed rostered hours and turns of duty. This will have a particular impact on Sundays when EMT relies on volunteers to work on rest days as it has no formal agreement for Sunday rostering.
