Despite 'robust growth across all of our franchises' producing like-for-like passenger revenue growth of 6.5%, total revenue at the UK Rail division of FirstGroup plc in the six months to September 30 2014 was down at £1 155.6m from £ 1 395.2m the year before. This reflected a reduction in subsidy at First ScotRail, as well as the end of revenue support at First Great Western which had returned to 'normal commercial terms' under the direct award announced in October 2013 (RB1448 p1), and at First Capital Connect which handed over to Govia on September 14 2014(RBl470 p4).
