Total revenue at Groupe Eurotunnel SA in the first quarter of 2014 was €260·5m, up 8°/o on the year before, according to traffic and revenue figures announced on April 24. Revenue from the Fixed Link business was up 4% at €179·8m, including Eurotunnel's own shuttle operations where revenue was up 5% at €106·5m. While the number of trucks carried was up 4% at 347 021 and cars and other private vehicles up 1% at 448 481, coach traffic was down 6% at 11 963. Eurotunnel attributed this to the 'unfavourable calendar effect' of Easter falling in Q2 this year rather than during Q1 as in 2013.
