Three-way agreement for northern projects

On April 24 Network Rail, Northern Rail and First TransPennine Express announced the signing of a 'formal collaboration agreement' to improve efficiency and deliver better value for money as projects are rolled out during Control Period 5, running until March 31 2019. Building on the experience gained by the three companies when working together on projects including Northwest Electrification and preparations for the Northern Hub programme, the new 'triangular agreement' replaces separate agreements between NR and the two TOCs.
