RMT members at Network Rail are to be balloted on a revised pay offer this week, with the union's General Grades Committee recommending acceptance. NR has made a revised offer to RMT, TSSA and Unite following a planned national strike which was called off last month for further talks (RB1486 p8); TSSA is also to ballot its members on the revised offer. For the 2015 and 2016 pay round, NR has committed to pay all staff a 2% consolidated increase backdated to January 1 2015. A consolidated increase equal to RP1 in November 2015 will be made from January 1 2016. NR says it has made it clear that these increases 'must be offset through agreed efficiencies'. The company 'guarantees no compulsory redundancies' until December 31 2016, and is to enter into discussions with the unions to agree a comprehensive job security package, including voluntary severance, retraining and relocation.
