At a late stage in the discussions, c2c failed to Teach final agreement to sublease two five-car Class 360 Heathrow Connect EMUs to provide urgently-needed additional capacity following the major timetable change last December. However, the five Class 360s were soon afterwards drafted in to work Heathrow Express services afteT the Class 332s were withdrawn for rec- tification work (RB1505 p6). 'We are in active discussions with industry partners including the Department for Transport on other options for providing extra carriages', c2c told RBI. 'We are still carrying significantly more passengers than before. Two-thirds of the passenger growth is from stations in Essex, so this is route-wide passenger growth rather than just between London stations.'
