Characterization of the solid contents of tanks prior to POCO is essential to establishing an effective strategy for POCO. Dose rate measurements taken from outside of the tanks can be converted into activity maps via the MLEM algorithm. MCNP is an essential tool for accurately calculating the relationship matrix-the key input into the algorithm.
