REGULATIONS AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR ACCELERATOR FACILITIES IN THE U.S.

There are applications of accelerators in the fields of health, food preservation, energy, environmental monitoring and protection, and industrial processing. This paper discusses the regulations and guidelines that apply to design, construction, and operation of an accelerator facility. Emphasis is given to the management practices in personal and environmental protection and some examples of such practices applied at the U.S. Department of Energy accelerators are discussed.
