Since 1948, when the Isle of Man Amateur Radio Society affiliated to the RSGB, they have grown from strength to strength. In addition to monthly meetings (with a new lecture most months) they have developed a radio shack where members meet each week and operate radio, undertake repairs and various construction projects. They also have an active 'digital' corner and are just starting regular CW training sessions.rnClasses for all three examinations take place as there are still people on the Isle of Man who don't have a radio licence! With strong links with their Government, they are developing a new RAYNET group in case TETRA fails. A 70cm wide split repeater system covers all the Island, Internet linked (supported by a local ISP company) and 50% funded by the statutory services is under development.
