Cvjetkovic CA-61 Mini Ace

Anton Cvjetkovic designed his first aircraft in Yugoslavia in 1951, this was the CA-51 and it was still flying in 1969. Anton emigrated to the USA. in the late 50s and 1960 he began design on the CA-61 Mini Ace. This aircraft was very similar to the CA-51 in most respects. It could be built with a retracting undercarriage if desired and powered with either a converted Volkswagen engine or a Continental 65 hp flat-four. The designer also designed a side-by-side two-seat version, the CA-65. In 1965 the Mini Ace plans were published in 'Mechanix Illustrated' with the claim that it could be built for $1000. At this time Anton Cvjetkovic was working for NASA on the Apollo project to put a man on the moon.
