Once more we have to belatedly mark the loss of another of our hobby's leading figures. The model press over the past months has admirably covered the history and career of Ron Moulton. As an aeromodeller, designer, journalist, magazine editor and in so many other roles, Ron's imaginative and dynamic approach played a large part in kick-starting post-war modelling in the UK and influenced its development to the present day. Ron's designs covered most fields of aeromodelling and like Bill Dean, Ray Malmstrom, Phil Smith and David Boddington, inspired generations of modellers. In recent years, I met Ron at various events and enjoyed some fascinating chats and was more than gratified to learn that he read this column regularly.
