Part one of this feature will cover the basic requirements for a successful EDF model and part two will look at some specific models and developments. After experiencing many model types, one of my main interests has centred on EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) aircraft. Yes, of course, given the opportunity I would have loved to join the gas turbine set for the ultimate in realism. Ah, the sound, smell and performance! However, a variety of limitations have meant that my jet urges have to be satisfied with EDF models.
