Indonesia is the sixth-largest paper producer and ninth-largest pulp producer in the world, according to Germany Trade & Invest (Gtai).The Gtai cites latest statistics published by the global data and service provider Data Consult that put the country's paper output at nearly 13 million t and pulp output at 8.4 million t in 2017. In view of rising domestic and foreign demand, Indonesia paper production is expected to increase to 16 million t and pulp output to 10.9 million t by 2022.
