Building a strong workforce: one employee at a time

In January, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a $1 billion aid package designed to help communities that have been rocked by economic exigency. This exigency, more often than not, is related to forestry industry job losses. The goal of the aid package is worker retraining, skills development and community transition. While subject to parliamentary approval, the unveiling of this financial assistance highlights a critical need to invest not only in technology, research andrnoperations, but also in people.
