Currently permitted for six sectors, and with Sector 3, the existing sector, filling rapidly, the city determined that is was time to begin the next sector. Sector 4 provides an additional 1.5 million cu yd of capacity for the city's waste disposal needs, which equates to about 2.5 years of life for the landfill.
