Builders work to prevent stormwater pollution

The Texas Association of Builders (TAB), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the EPA have taken another step toward making construction site runoff as clean as possible. The three parties signed the first agreement in the nation that commits them to developing a program to help home builders meet federal and state stormwater regulations. TAB members who complete training and a self-assessment checklist may display a "Storm Water Self-Certified" sticker on construction permits, and sites that display the sticker will be a lower priority for routine inspections.
