Detergent compsn. contains a water-sol. detergent and, as builder, a normal alkali or (substd) ammonium salt of oxydiacetic acid (diglycollic acid). The compsn. contains 25-45 wt.% of anionic, zwitterionic or amphoteric detergent(s) and 25-75 wt.% of the oxydiacetic acid salt, or 15-30 wt.% of nonionic detergent(s) and 25-85 wt.% of the oxydiacetic acid salt.
