Keeping Membership at the Forefront During a Unique Year

This time last year, I wrote an article reflecting on my conference experience from the start of my career, up to and including my experience attending as a member of the APCO Executive Committee. Little did I know we would not see each other in person for conference, or, in fact, for more than a year. It has been a unique experience serving as president in a primarily virtual capacity. Serving our membership has remained the top priority of APCO staff and leadership throughout the year, and while there were challenges, that priority did not falter. I started my presidency with the announcement of two new efforts; the APCO Health and Wellness Committee, chaired by Capt. Jeremy Hill, and the Military Task Force, chaired by Cheryl Konarski. Both continue to work on exciting goals that stand to benefit APCO members for years to come.
