Most of the species of creatures living on our Earth's surface are insects. Up to now, approximately one million different insect species have been described and named, but we think that the number of species that have not yet been classified are an even larger number. The great number of insect species, combined with their minute dimensions, necessarily make the insect taxonomy a much more difficult area of expertise, leaving it to the professional entomologists.
