On the road to a more sustainable transport future

Editor: With the government's announcement that it is to spend £91.7m on decarbonisation projects, Cluttons recognises the importance of ensuring the roll-out of infrastructure to support new green automotive technologies. In April 2021, there were 245,000 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and 270,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) on the road. This number is only set to grow, with 200,000 additional registrations of pure EVs estimated by the end of 2021. By 2030, it is hoped that nearly five million EVs will be on the UK's roads.
