Brickf low launches first online UK development finance search service

The first online search engine for UK real estate development finance has been launched. Brickflow connects real estate borrowers with lenders able to supply loans of between £150,000 and £100m. The platform, which has been in a testing phase since the end of February, aims to complete all development loans within six weeks, significantly shorter than the usual period of several months. Around 18 lenders have so far signed up to the search engine, which has more than 1,000 unique users. The total number of searches now stands at 2,829. Brickflow was co-founded by Ian Humphreys (pictured), a property finance professional with more than 15 years' experience, and software developer Robert Lange. Humphreys, who set up the firm at the end of last year, said he hoped the platform would help developers access appropriate financing. "It is well known that the UK has a severe housing shortage and a major reason for this is the challenge many developers face in accessing the best finance for their needs," he said.
