Purplebricks posts operating loss

Online estate agency Purplebricks posted an operating loss for the year to 30 April 2020 of £9.4m, more than six times the £1.5m loss it reported in 2019.UK revenue was down 11% and UK instructions were down 23% in the 12 months to the end of April this year. The agency's cash reserves have more than halved from £62.8m in 2019 to £31m this year.Vic Darvey, chief executive of Purplebricks, said: "This year has seen some very difficult market conditions, with political and economic uncertainty dominating the landscape as a result of both Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. But, despite all this, I'm pleased to say we saw a resilient performance, with revenue decline of only 2% across the group."
