The government is set to replace Section 106 payments and fast-track 'beautiful buildings' as part of a dramatic overhaul of the planning system. The changes are outlined in its long-awaited white paper 'Planning for the Future', due to be published as Property Week went to press. The document will outline the government's roadmap for building houses faster and more sustainably, and making ownership more accessible to key workers and first-time buyers. The government said the current planning system will be overhauled and replaced with "a clearer, rules-based system".
