Green light for east London office scheme

Vastint UK has received planning permission for the second wave of offices at its Sugar House Island scheme in east London, as the first tenant prepares to move into the initial phase. The developer has been given the green light to deliver 290,000 sq ft of office space at its Stratford site, along with around 40,000 sq ft of flexible space at ground-floor level. The phase (pictured), known as MU2, will be split between three buildings ranging from four to seven storeys with warehouse-style facades in keeping with the area's industrial heritage. Completion is scheduled for 2023. The buildings will be BREEAM-rated 'Excellent'. The developer is also targeting WiredScore 'Gold' ratings.
