Research from national law firm Irwin Mitchell shows that 45% of local authorities are not taking the necessary measures to accommodate the UK's ageing population. Results from the same survey in 2017 showed that 62% of local authorities did not have a credible elderly accommodation policy or site allocations for their ageing populations. The new survey therefore indicates that progress has been made although there is still plenty of room for improvement.
