Resi investors take a shine to commercial assets at LSH auction

Lambert Smith Hampton raised £12.5m at its October sale, as growing interest from residential investors in commercial properties boosted sales. The sale included a retail unit formerly owned and occupied by Pizza Hut in Watford, which sold for £400,000, well above its guide price of £300,000. Auctioneer Oliver Childs said this was a "bread-and-butter commercial auction lot from a trusted seller" that appealed to investors considering the commercial market after stamp duty on residential buy-to-let properties increased in April.
