Axa real estate investment Managers has slashed nearly 800,000 sq ft off its plans at Kent International Gateway, the rail freight terminal near Maidstone.It believes this downsizing will improve the chances of winning an appeal to develop 275 acres on the south side of the M20 near Bearsted.A public consultation ends next Friday for the scheme, which has been reduced to 3.2m sq ft. A public inquiry is due to start on 13 October.Axa REIM pared down the scheme earlier this month by reducing the size of the two main buildings that would have connected directly to the railway line and together would have totalled 1.84m sq ft.
