Premier Inn hails hub hotels

Whitbread has launched a compact hotel concept called "hub by Premier Inn" to target big city centres where space is at a premium. The first hub will open on St Martin's Lane in London's West End in summer 2014, and will provide 167 rooms of 122 sq ft. To optimise space, the desk folds into the bed and luggage storage is under the bed. It will be the first UK hotel with its own app - where customers can book and check in, as well as pre-select room temperature and light settings.
