Malins Group takes Covent Garden office

The Malins Croup has acquired a former office building in the heart of Covent Garden to convert into a £15m luxury residential development. The specialist investor and developer, owned and controlled by the Atkins family, will convert 2-4 Catherine Street, on the corner of Tavistock Street, into four high-end apartments including a duplex penthouse. The group paid £9m to buy the five-storey 7,384 sq ft period building from London and Central Investments. The Malins Group has secured planning permission from Westminster City Council to add additional space. Planning consent was granted last year for the conversion to apartments from office space. The development will be called The Tavistock to reflect the building's Covent Garden roots. CBRE advised The Malins Group on the acquisition.
