￡6.6bn property localism bill

Property companies will have to pay up to ￡6.6bn for community improvements over the next 10 years under a plan set out in the Localism Bill. The Communities and Local Government department yesterday published an impact assessment of the cost of measures in the bill and their proposed benefits. It forecast that the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) would cost developers up to ￡6.6bn over a decade and cover the cost to councils of setting up CIL arrangements and payments.
