Urban studio, the former urban planning and design team at Llewelyn Davies Yeang has been appointed to produce a masterplan for Redhill.As part of Redhill's new growth plan status, the masterplan has been allocated funding from the government's ￡5.3m New Growth Points initiative, the regional developmentagency and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.The council wants the masterplan to feature more than 1,000 homes, and new retail and office quarters in the town centre.Kevin Mannerly, the council's regeneration and implementation planner, believes the key to Red hill's progress is its status as a transport interchange closeto London, Brighton and Gatwick airport, and its potential for growth.'Through the masterplan we are striving to create a robust 15-20-year plan to create a sustainable future for Redhill,' he said.'We have studies that have illustrated that there is capacity for about 200,000 sq ft of further retail in Redhill and scope for alarge supermarket as well.
