New eco-f riendly framework for built environment

Everyone can say they are doing a lot to make their business more eco-friendly. Now, reporting standards are being brought in so they can prove it is the case. The Global Reporting Initiative, which advises firms on how to report environmental performance, has published new guidelines for the property and construction sectors. It has worked with Hermes Real Estate Investment Management the British Property Federation and the UK Green Building Council to produce the Construction and Real Estate Supplement, which includes a framework that professionals can use to help them report on issues such as carbon emissions and water use.
