'Smart city' term enshrined in British vernacular

The first formal definition of a "smart city" has been introduced to aid city leaders, architects and technology designers. The British Standards Institution (BSI) has stated that a smart city is one that "effectively integrates physical, digital and human systems in the built environment to deliver a sustainable, prosperous and inclusive future for its citizens".
