Netto eyes stores for UK return

Scandinavian supermarket Netto has appointed agents to search for up to 15 stores in the north of England for its planned return to the UK market. The supermarket has appointed out-of-town retail agency Wilkinson Williams and Colliers International to search for the stores between Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and Catterick in North Yorkshire, and across the breadth of the UK. Stores must be between 10,000 and 15,000 sq ft with a good residential catchment and at least 60 car parking spaces, the brief states. Last week, Netto announced it had formed a joint venture with Sainsburys to open new UK stores, with both parties investing £12.5m in the venture.
