New Requirements for Pesticide Discharges

In response to a recent court decision that labeled pesticides discharged into U.S. waters as pollutants, EPA is proposing a new permit that would decrease the amount of pesticides released into such water sources.rnThe proposed rule would require all operators to reduce pesticide discharge amounts by using the lowest effective amount of pesticide, prevent leaks and spills, regulate equipment, and monitor for and report adverse incidents.
