Dow AgroSciences is to phase out all non-agricultural uses of its organophosphate insecticide,chlorpyrifos,in Europe.The decision has been taken due to diminished returns and the prospect of increasing regulatory costs in supporting non-crop uses of the active ingredient through the re-registration process under the EU biocidal products Directive(98/8),the company says.
