Please accept my compliments on the article on the Fatality Prevention Forum by Jan Wachter and Lon Ferguson in the July issue of PS (pp. 41-49). I saw the advertisements prior to this forum and wanted to attend, but several reasons kept me close to home. I found it an excellent write-up of the forum and a good, solid article on issues about addressing the precursors to serious injuries. Much has been written on Heinrich's triangle in the past couple of years, and this article does an excellent job of clarifying the descriptive versus predictive data points within the triangle relative to the top (i.e., the section with the rarest but most significant incidents).
