Global participation for Safety 2013 grew more than 30％ compared with Safety 2012. Representatives from 35 countries and delegations from such new locations as Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, Israel and Russia were in attendance. The largest delegation outside of North America came from the Nigeria Chapter with 50 members. New activities this year included: Outgoing ASSE President Rick Pollock signed an MOU with NACOT's (Russian Association for Centers for Occupational Safety) Executive Director Nikolay Novikov to promote bilateral cooperation, including best practices and technical information exchanges.
