摘要

Have you ever felt frustrated, mad or like you just needed to complain about the weather? Artist Angela Garrick has, and she did something about it. Garrick, who lives in Australia, created a weather hotline for people to complain about the weather. She took out several newspaper ads that highlighted a "professional service" for people to vent their feelings and frustrations about the weather. "I feel like in this day in age, we're always having to perfect our lives. . . . There's just some factors that we just can't control and [the weather] is one of them," she says. The hotline, called Weather Vent, allows people to connect to a voice mail where they can let out their frustrated feelings about the weather. "Small things can affect our emotional state and talking about the weather is seen as this kinda banal thing, but its actually quite meaningful and linked to our psychological condition," she says. The voice messages are part of Garrick's art installation project that is included in the SafARI exhibition at the Cross Arts Gallery in Potts Point, Australia (near Sydney).
