The Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, AR, is coined as the "world's only keep-what-you-find diamond site." Located in the southwest area of the state, the park offers a 37.5-acre plowed field that is the eroded surface of an ancient, diamond-bearing volcanic center. And, as promised, whatever diamond you find at the park you can keep. A few famous finds at the park include: •The Strawn-Wagner Diamond. This 3.03-carat gem has the highest grade a diamond can achieve (0/0/0 for ideal cut, color, flawless). It is said to be a "perfect one-in-a-billion gem." Shirley Strawn of Murfreesboro, AR, found the gem in 1990 and had it cut into a 1.09-carat round brilliant-shape diamond. She sold the diamond to the state park for a reported $34,700, and it is now on exhibit at the park.
